I'm not talking about who can do more tricks, I'm talking about consistency.
1) Who is more consistent?
2) Who's your favorite?
3) Who would you rather have in your team?
4) Fictional Situation: Your a top football manager. Your team's down by 1 goal, and you have only one substitute left. It's the 80th minute of the game. You have Lionel Andres Messi and Robinho de Souza on the bench. Who do you bring in to open up the defense with their footwork and create a goal scoring opportunity and why?
For me it's:
1) Robinho is more consistent, with Brasil he has yet to have a terrible game. Messi under performed with Argentina in Copa America final 2007 against Brasil, and badly in a qualifying game against Bolivia a few months ago.
2) But Messi is my favorite. His small frame, quick bursts of speed, and phenomenal dribbling touches, remind me of the throw back days of Ariel Ortega and Diego Maradona, Argentina's other two great dribblers.
3) I'd rather have Messi in my team.
4) I'd bring Robinho on off the bench, because his fancy futsal tricks, pedeladas, nut megs, elasticos, roleta's(360 spins), and juggling abilites can throw off and frustrate defenders, drawing multiple defenders to him, allowing other players on his team openings for Robinho to pass to. He does this great. Look at his 2006 world cup apperances, as well as Copa America 2007, and Confederations Cup 2009.
